Weather was the topic of conversation at Arlene Angards wonderful fourth anniversary celebration for her cozy home furnishings boutique on the First Avenue and 88th Street. Her 30+ guests  and many other Manhattan-ites were delighted with the unusual warm night and clear skies.

Arlene Angard Designs is a New York based, full service interior design and decoration firm specializing in luxury residential and new age commercial.  The 1200 sq. ft boutique is filled with custom made furniture, lighting and accessories.

Arlene arrived to New York City in 1997 from her native country of Venezuela. Holding a degree in Dentistry, it seems she wanted to sink her teeth into something different. Arlene decided to pursue her dream career and joined the New York School of Interior Design. Her love affair with her new career motivated her to complete her studies and open her diverse design business.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Arlene at the 2012 Design on a Dime Event.  We each designed a vignette and were neighbors (nosy neighbors) who encouraged each others creativity.  She has been a wonderful friend, great supporter and client.  I look forward  to checking out her vignette at this years DOD event on April 24th and the Metropolitan Pavillion in Chelsea.

The high energy and vibrancy of  Manhattan is reflected in her creations and at her celebration. Guests at Arlene's 4th Anniversary Party mingled upstairs and downstairs while modern jazz tunes played in the background. The waiters at her eclectic boutique served a thirst quenching Sauvignon Blanc, Prosecco, Cava and Tequila. A variety of tasty "C's" on trays were available for those of us with the munchies;  Cheese Crackers, Crudites and Caviar.  Thank you Arlene for the marvelous party and your magical smile.
