Part 1

Dining by Design's annual 4 day party and show series kicked off a with momentous affair.  A splendid cocktail party for more than 2500 design enthusiast.

The new expanded venue is a few steps and a freight elevator ride from the years past. The location may have changed but the idea remains the same.

DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) has once again brought together a talented group of artisans highlighting the hottest new trends in design. Each year, DIFFA transforms a raw space into a showcase of magnificent, over-the-top dining environments.

There are 50+ fantastic dining installations and an impressive list of creative geniuses helping to make it all happen.  This year boasts innovation and imagination from Tyler Wisler, Robert Passal, Robert Verdi, Hunt Slonem, Kitty Hawks and Andrew Harrington.

DIFFA never fails to bring in the elite -so industry favorites like Benjamin Moore, Kravet, Lee Jofa, Roche Bobois, Ralph Lauren Home, Hermes of Paris and the New York Design Center all played a special role in various installations.

DIFFA continues to raise the bar for exciting and entertaining parties.  While mingling and viewing dazzling dining vignettes we enjoyed delicious wine from Oyster Bay Wines as well as cocktails by Patron.  Guests had the opportunity to bid on the silent auction along with posing for  pictures at the popular photo booth.  Tasty treats from NYC's top restaurants and gourmet food purveyors were stationed at each corner.

Thank you Architectural Digest + Interior Design Magazine + the New York Times and DIFFA your annual cocktail event was a dazzling display of dining delight.

I had the pleasure of attending with my good friend and photographer Peter Kubilus. We took more than 200 images - this is the first of 2 stories for #DiningbyDesign2015.  Stay tuned . . .
