The John Rosselli Showroom on 61st and 2nd Avenue hosted a terrific book signing celebration for "40 Years of Fabulous".  Steven Stolman's new book is a must read for every working designer. It's not a text-book per se . . .it's more a glam-book.

For more than four decades, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has presented the creations of a stellar roster of design professionals in what is regarded as one of the finest decorator show houses in the world. 40 Years of Fabulous provides an insider’s look at the history of this highly anticipated annual convention of society while revisiting the spectacular rooms by star decorators past and present

Like the fashion or theatre, the competitive world of interior design depends on the classic struggle between experience and youth for its edge. Kips Bay has always welcomed those at the beginning of their careers as well as those far more established. This is the element that has kept the show house relevant and at the top of its game for almost half a century.

Throughout the 280 pages the book presents rooms that truly defined interior design while setting trends still evident in today’s environments.

The good people at John Rosselli always gather a talented, eclectic group of  design professionals to their creative and vibrant showroom. At tonight's party, I  ask guests "WHAT TIME DID YOU WAKE UP THIS MORNING"  . . . read more and discover who greets the day first in design society.

  1. I'm not sure I can ever go back to any other place, after an experience like this. This place is appropriate in a space that lends so much gravitas to events. The design of Boston venues is sharp and environment is unbelievably good.
