MON ONCLE celebrates 100 stories Garden Party at EMc2

Thursday May 28th 2015 5:40pm 82 degrees (humid)

This blog is enthusiastically celebrating 100 stories. The soirée was a "thank you" gesture for those who offered their support, appreciation and encouragement - while achieving this milestone.

I chose the perfect venue . . .the legendary EMc2, a boutique of women's fashions and accessories that has a charming - secluded garden in back between the 'tienda de ropa' and design studio. Emmett McCarthy has been at the center of downtown fashion for many years and his chic shop has been a favorite for fashion conscious women, socialites and political influencers. Emmett and his team were so gracious to accommodate my last minute decision and date for the celebration.

It seems 100 stories snuck upon us
it was just yesterday we were on page #59 "The Shoe Book" post.  Which stepped up to be the most popular story to date with more than 74k hits. In second place is #28 the "Holiday House Deep House Remix" from 2013 with a cool 46k hits and counting.  The third most popular story was the kick-off party for "Design on a Dime 2014" 10 year celebration with 29k hits and counting.

Most stories average between 3500 -7k, some stories continue to grow because the people featured become brand names or google searched celebs

I remember celebrating after one early story received 100 hits - or the email from a Conde Nast big shot offered an aesthetic suggestion and mentioned "real people real fashion" as their reason for following my chronicles.

We've identified our core audience as a fashion forward, trend setting, engaged professional who "work-plays" 24/7. My email blasts and twitter taps with picture stories about who's who at what's what - is a win / win for me and my growing audience. Thank you.

The fastest rising story with more than 760 hits within 24 hours was #84 - 2015's "Dining by Design". The global stats chart showcases a strong following in Europe. Not to mention a wonderful new fan base direct from Hong Kong. Cyber space is working extra hard for me - and I'm thrilled to be part of the orbit. Who knew people in London, Berlin & Hawaii would subscribe to my home grown - learn as you go -  event chronicles blog.

I had the above words prepared for my toast. When the time came for me to raise a glass for 100 stories my speech was misplaced under a pizza tray and the magic lemonade had taken effect.  I did not have the opportunity to personally call out the names of the talented and busy supporters like; Emmett McCarthy, Iris Dankner, Daniel VanHall, Ron Marvin, Lisa McMahon, Andrew Joseph, Richard Lowe, Champagne Joy, Michael Hall, Harry Heissmann, Carl Lana, Nathaniel Galka, Peter Kubilus, David Linton, Jade Dressler and Ally Coulter

Thank you; readers, picture lovers, party hosts design empresarios, cocktail party twirlers, fashion-spirings and so many others - here's to the next hundred.
